Just After the Snow

First 3:  had just stopped snowing when we got here
Our morning trek was delayed 1 1/2 hours by inclement weather:  heavy rain turning to heavy snow.  The size of the snowflakes floating down and accumulating was rather astonishing.

As soon as the snowfall diminished significantly Willow, Frio and I headed out for a hike in our normal spot.  Because it was already 34F there was no ice or slush on the roads.

At first it seemed as if the sky was beginning to clear, but by the time we turned southward up Right Bright Arroyo fog had settled in.

On the drive home I put on the CR-V's fog lights, but turned them off as we descended Tellbrook because the fog had already begun lifting.

Gorgeous photos from this morning's unexpected snowfall. My favorite? The first one. The last ones of the cactus in snow is also lovely.
