Air Supply

Two Ladder-backed Woodpeckers in a Soaptree Yucca
Bad dog encounter early on LDR-A this morning; a woman who runs with her dog (on lead) came up behind us as we were descending the road.

I was able to get Frio and Willow far enough away so that there was no direct confrontation.  The woman had a hard time controlling her pup who was also very reactive and aggressive.

We've bumped into this woman and her dog often in the past, and we've all learned to deal with the inevitable kerfuffle.

The smoky air was terrible, the worst I've seen since the Black Fire started several weeks ago.  Combine that with exceptionally high temperatures and it makes for lousy conditions.  I definitely had a low-grade headache from the bad air.

What we need more than ever is some really decent rains from our yearly monsoon season.
