Brrrrr

From all appearances it looks as if I should have called this blog post "Studies in Becca and Road."  In my defense all I can say is it was almost too cold this morning to take photos.  The CR-V thermometer read 32F when we started off, but out west of the mountain there was a persistent cold wind that made things feel much worse.  Just as we reached the intersection of the arroyo trail and the first trail coming down from the west side of the mountain we bumped into Tracey and George who were headed in the same direction as us; so we hiked with them for a while before striking further west into the desert outback.  Because of a series of circumstances--not wanting to encounter a man and woman with a loose dog, for instance--Becca and I ended up going a lot further than I had originally planned; in fact, it was the furthest we'd trekked in a long spell.  She seemed up to the task, though, and when we got home she didn't seem any worse for wear.  It was a nice hike we did, just a bit too cold.

I like "Studies in Becca and Road"--she must be one of the most photographed dogs in the world.
