Short Jaunt

This kind of morning in the northern Chihuahuan Desert
Although Becca isn't supposed to resume normal activity for 7 to 10 more days I took her to the west side of Tortugas for a very short jaunt.  She got to check out the desert scents and to take care of some business.  Our pal Jimmy was good enough to park his truck and make a point of coming over to greet us.  Becca was elated.  We talked for a good spell while getting sprinkled on before going our separate ways.  When Becca and I got home Dr. K said that the vet, Dr. Thompson, had called with results from the lab test of Becca's growths.  It's not good news.  Becca has a rare type of blood vessel carcinoma that sometimes occurs in older Border Collies.  It's a low-grade cancer that may allow her to live another 18 months.  You can be sure we'll give her the very best of care, but neither Dr. K nor I are inclined to subject Becca to further surgery.
