Sacred Datura growing on our property |
There were small blood spots and smears all over the kitchen tile this morning, so it's clear Becca is still bleeding from the mouth or nose. I called the vet at 8 this morning to try getting her in right away, but the receptionist said they were booked all day, and the best they could do was let me drop her off so one of the doctors might get a chance to check her out sometime during working hours. I agreed to that, but called back to see if we could get her in tomorrow because Dr. K rightly pointed out to me that leaving Becca all day would terrify her. A different receptionist said we could bring Becca in at 3 p.m. to see Dr. Jones.
Becca will be a nervous wreck when she realizes where we're taking her, and Dr. K and I will be anxious all day. Hard not to imagine the worst given Becca's rare form of cancer, for which there are no protocols.
She seemed peppier this morning, so I decided to take her on a short half-hour hike west of Tortugas Mountain. Her tail was up on the outbound leg, but straight down when we headed back. She's definitely not up to snuff.
