Another Second Arroyo Visit

This and the next:  what happens after Stingleaf blooms
The four of us headed up to Second Arroyo early this morning; along the way we bumped into Mr. and Mrs. Big Hat--except they weren't wearing big hats today.  We exchanged brief salutations.

It was cool at the start of our trek (54F), but after our brief layover in Second Arroyo the temperature started to rise; it felt fairly hot on the inbound leg of our hike.  We're headed for a high of 92F or 93F today--well above normal for mid-October.

These photos show how the desert is beginning to brown out because of the change of season, even though the warm temperatures make it feel like it's still summer.
