Before the Windstorm

Grassy Chihuahuan Desert
Dr. K, Willow, Frio and I were able to do our regular hike in wind-free conditions.  Last night the weather forecast called for strong winds beginning at noon.  This morning the prediction was for winds to start at 10 a.m.  So far no blow.

We expect the weather to get really bad, however, with 25-to-35 mph winds gusting to 50 or 55.  That means blowing dust and sand and generally all-around unpleasant conditions.
