Four Trailmates

Male quail in tree
Dr. K, Willow, Frio and I did our regular hike this morning,  Dr. K and I were surprised by the number of Torrey and Faxon Yuccas that were sending up their flower stalks.  A few are represented in photos here.

Although we heard the distant sound of Bassets braying we didn't see any humans or canines out there today.  Just as well.

We're under another spring wind warning, this time with gusts of up to 50 mph; sure to be blowing dust and sand later this afternoon.

Somebody's blooming

Distant dove

This & next:  yucca flower head emerging

Willow and Frio

Last 4:  same yucca in blossoming
