Blooming in profusion were these gorgeous blue babies. I believe they are Dayflowers.
We purposefully returned to the RA Stalk area to see if the three-chambered pod of the Rain Lily had burst open yet to reveal its black seeds. Sure enough, it had.
In a grassy, meadow-like area we discovered these Dayflowers blooming in front of a large barrel cactus. This specimen was about 3 1/2 feet tall, which is big for a barrel in this part of the Chihuahuan Desert. Barrels are much bigger in the Sonoran Desert.
