Saturday Morning Hike

We got on the trail early this morning to beat the heat, but we weren't successful. Hot, humid and nearly windless weather greeted us. Having no specific research requirments, we took photos of whatever struck our fancy, like this old seismic laboratory that New Mexico State University has allowed to lapse into total disrepair.
A closeup of the A.B. Haboob Observatory (not it's real name--but another sexist observation from Packrat that Research Associate Becca vehemently resents).
A distant dream: refuge of the rich and famous.
The kind of development rapidly consuming the Chihuahuan Desert.
Closeup of the Sacred Datura plant, aka locoweed.
