Spring Break on the Mountain

On the distant horizon the Potrillo Mountains
Today was the last day of Spring Break for area schools, including New Mexico State University.  About midway through our long hike this morning Becca and I began to run into outdoor enthusiasts:  mountain bikers, joggers and hikers.  About a mile from the trailhead on the way back in we saw young families out for a day on the trails.  Why not?  We're headed for the lower 80s today, and the cloud cover has already completely lifted.  But, boy, was it crowded out there.

It's interesting to see the water seep into the yucca leaves.

I guess you kept enough water to hydrate you on your trip back to the trailhead! :)

Last night, I drove back home from a one-day professional conference at the University of Maryland in College Park, just inside the Beltway. The trip took me 3 hours, and traffic was packed solid and moving at 65 (or 70) mph the whole way. Get me outta' here!
