Sunday's Long Trek

Around the south side of the mountain
It was another beautiful day in the Chihuahuan Desert this morning, and Dr. K, Becca and I took advantage of the cooler temps by doing a very long hike.  Quite a few other people had the same idea; we saw hikers, bikers and joggers--some with dogs and some without.  Circumnavigating the mountain is a very popular weekend thing to do among the local citizenry, and there appeared to be quite a few doing just that.  We only had one close encounter--with a young woman jogging with her dog.  Her dog looked something like the one from the movie "Turner and Hooch."
