Miserable Little Hike

It was raining steadily when we got up this morning.  After about an hour it cleared enough for me to let Becca into the backyard to do her business.  An hour later there seemed to be a window of opportunity for us to head for Tortugas Mountain.  After about 1 1/2 miles of hiking we were forced to turn back because the rain started again.  We didn't get soaked, but we got pretty wet.  It was bad out there:  rain, wind and heavy cloud cover.  Not a whole lot of fun on our hike this morning.  I had to towel Becca off thoroughly afterwards.

We're lucky that rain like this doesn't happen too often in the desert.
