If It's Sunday This Must Be Sierra Vista

Just starting off south toward Bishop Cap
We hadn't hiked south on the Sierra Vista Trail for quite a while so Dr. K, Becca and I set off on a long trek.  We only ran into two people:  a mountain biker and a runner with a two-year-old male Rhodesian Ridgeback dog.  He and Becca got along just fine.  When we got home I looked out the living room window and saw a White-winged Dove and a Ladderback Woodpecker in our Desert Willow tree.  The dove was relaxing while the woodpecker pecked away.
The entire length of the trail was surrounded by grass
