Vet Day

Up on the foothills trail
Yesterday was Veterans Day and today was Vet Day for Becca; that's right, I had to take the B-dog in for a three-year rabies booster and a distemper/parvo booster.  She was not a happy camper.  As I've mentioned here before Becca gets so nervous at the vet's office that she shakes like a swimmer emerging from cold water on a cool, windy day.  There seems to be nothing I can say to calm her down.  Even the happy black-and-white Pekingese could not distract Becca from her anxiety.  Poor girl.

When we take our cats to the vet in a pet carrier, it's impossible to get them into the carrier at home...and impossible to get them out of the carrier at the vet's office.

Once they're out at the office though, most of them just huddle in resignation. "If it's my time to go, I guess there's nothing I can do about it," they seem to say.

At least Becca had a nice hike before she had to see the doctor.

Your comment really made me laugh, Scott. Both of our cats were hard to get into the carrier, but with one it was a near-impossible task. She could stretch her legs out in the most incredible positions in order to thwart our attempts to get her inside.
