Here Come Da Wind

I was slightly under dressed when Becca and I set off this morning because our local meteorologist said the stiff winds wouldn't begin until this afternoon.  Well, surprise surprise, the wind was already blowing quite heartily when we set off around Tortugas Mountain.  The chill was ameliorated somewhat, however, by bright sunshine, so it wasn't like we were freezing.  Becca thought the chillier temperature was just right, and it made her have even more canine energy than usual.

Two days in a row in the low 40s (normal high this time of year in the northern Piedmont)! What a treat! Friday's high is supposed to be 23, though--back to the deep freeze. It has been so cold this year. Plus, it's supposed to be windy on Friday (though sunny).

Such a contrast in weather from one part of the country to the other--record lows and record highs.

That's a lovely pic of Becca! I'm not keen on our local meteorolgist here- I am not convinced she has adequate credentials =D

We can complain about the weather, Scott, but we've got nothing compared to those poor folks in Boston: 69" of snow in thirty days! They don't know what to do with it.

Dr. K: One has to do with the other, no doubt.

Thanks, Liz! I know what you mean about meteorologists. Sometimes I feel I could do as good a job as they do.
