I took a few days off from blogging because I had family in town and we spent the better part of three days doing touristy things together. It was a nice visit, but now that it's over I can get back to the serious issue of posting on this blog. :) Becca and I did get to hike each of the past three days, and these are images from those hikes.

I like the photo (the second to the last) with the barrel cactus and the yellow pods.
I particularly like the image of the sheer cliff with the clouds behind. I wondered why you were MIA (even though you had told us about your visiting family). So, what kind of touristy things did you do?
We spent hours on the plaza in Old Mesilla, Scott, looking into shops and eating lunch at a restaurant where two guitarists serenaded us with Mexican music. We toured the New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum till our feet hurt, then sampled Heart of the Desert wine in the museum store, later buying three bottles of red for evening consumption. An all around good time.
Sounds like a good time, Packrat. We bought pistachios from Heart of the Desert store the last time we were in New Mexico.
We bought some of their pistachios, too, Scott--red pepper pistachios. Yummy, but hot.
