Restocking Day at the Ranch

Dynamic morning weather
It was significantly chilly this morning, cutting the number of shade breaks we took to zero.   Because of that I didn't have to shorten our hike much to compensate for restocking day--Tuesday--on which I go shopping at Target and Albertsons in order to buy supplies for the ranch house.  Since I started grocery shopping at Target in order to cut down on our bill, traipsing over to Albertsons to buy things not available at Target, our bill seems to have doubled, and my time expenditure has gone from one to one-and-a-half hours.

Bishop Cap on the horizon

Long road ahead

Torrey Yucca and the Organ Mountains

Tortugas (left) and the Organs

Brighter sky near the Sunset Parking area

I really like the first photo with the sunshine and shadow on the desert.

Love the dramatic silhouette of the yucca against the mountains.

Hi Jacqui. I imagine parts of Australia have Yuccas, too. But, no, having just written that I thought to Google for the answer, and it seems Yuccas occur exclusively in the Americas. My guess is, though, that some people have found a way to grow them in the Australian desert areas.
