Short Trek

The trail not taken
Because Dr. K and I were car shopping yesterday I had to do the weekly grocery shopping today.  Owing to that fact Becca and I set off early west of Tortugas Mountain, and we kept our morning peregrination to a slightly more that bare minimum.  That was okay, though, because the heat has been turned up the past few days and the added humidity has pushed the discomfort level into the unpleasant range.  Despite the weather there were other people out enjoying nature--hikers, bikers and peramblers--though we managed to run into none.
Finally caught sight of the wild animal stalking us

That gave Becca a good laugh

How many desert plants can you identify?
