We're Back

West of Tortugas
Today was grocery shopping day so Becca and I got an early start on our morning hike west of Tortugas Mountain.  I shortened the trek, but not significantly.  It was rather chilly, although quite muggy when we were hiking, and I had to remove my Marmot PreCip jacket about midway through our outing.

We saw, and greeted, several other hikers and a mountain biker during our trek, but it was by no means crowded west of the mountain.  And when we got back to the Sunset Area there were only a few vehicles in the parking lot.

That first photo--West of Tortugas--shows that the desert floor is starting to green out because of the recent rain and the change of seasons. I'm glad you were able to get a hike in before having to do your dreaded weekly shopping expedition.
