Shortened for Shopping

Hot already
Despite getting an early start this morning it was already hot and humid in our section of the northern Chihuahuan Desert.  It became immediately apparent to Becca and me that we weren't going to appreciate our daily trek as much as usual.  We have a chance for severe thunderstorms this afternoon, and the atmosphere has that particularly muggy feel to it.

I shortened the hike for another reason, too, my weekly shopping trip to Target and Alberstsons to resupply the hacienda.  Both the Beckster and I were happy with the shorter version of the daily trek, and we were pleased to climb back into Whitey the CR-V and get its interior cooled down to tolerable conditions.

The Nipple Beehive Cactus flowers will be even more beautiful once they've totally opened. Even though it was hot and muggy, it still looks like you and Becca had a pleasant hike.
