Bath Times Two

First 2:  Old Curved Bill belting out a tune
It was the best of times; it was the worst of times.  Frio, Willow and I had a good hike up to First Arroyo, and on the way back down LDR we bumped into the man and woman runners we often see on Saturdays.  I let Willow go over to greet them and be petted, and she was very good.  Frio barked at the woman a few times.

After we parted company we started up the steady incline to the upper flatland, but had to detour to LDR-A because the hikers with the Basset Hounds were headed our way.  The detour brought us face to face with two large Shepherds coming down.

Fortunately the two foreigners were not in the least bit aggressive, buy my Heelers went bonkers during the encounter.  It was all I could do to restrain them.  After I finally got them off the trail the elderly woman owner strolled by casually, turned to me and said, "Sorry" in the most offhand way I was certain she didn't mean it.  Had I had more warning about her oncoming dogs I'd have let Frio and Willow off lead.  Although the woman never called her dogs away I couldn't be completely pissed at her because the Shepherds were well behaved.

After I'd been home for twenty minutes we bathed both dogs, Willow first and Frio afterwards.  Willow was very cooperative, and Frio not so much, though he wasn't a complete handful.
