Solo Con Dos Amigos

Nearly at the Tellbrook Arroyo
Did the morning hike with Frio and Willow alone today because Dr. K has a bruised meniscus; it was diagnosed yesterday, and she has to avoid descending or climbing for a month.  That could translate into me having to trek with the Heelers by myself until Dr. K's injury heals.

We did a 90-minute exploration today with only one incident that put heavy strain on both of my arms and shoulders.  My two companions took off after a jackrabbit before I was aware they'd spotted one.  Each dog zipped to the end of its lead in record time, forcing me to hold on for dear life.  It's so hard to tamp down their instinct to chase.  It took two years for Becca to get the message when she was a youngster.

Despite the upset, the three of us had a good outing in the Chihuahuan Desert this morning.  Glad we're inside now because the wind is horrible.
