A Late Start

Ocotillos on the hill alongside LDR-A
Due to an 8 a.m. appointment I had we got a late start this morning, not getting onto the trail until after 9:15.  Nevertheless, we did our usual trek, and we were pleasantly surprised by the comfortable weather conditions:  mostly cloudy with a light breeze and a hint at possible showers.

Our section of northern Chihuahuan Desert can only be described as "lush."  It is easily the greenest we've ever seen it; and several months ago we wondered if the entire area was going to permanently brown out.

Chances for more rain look pretty decent this afternoon; despite the recent abundance of precipitation we can always use more of the wet stuff.
