Hands Solo

Swainson's Hawk on a Soaptree Yucca
Dr. K attended a meeting this morning so I had to take Willow and Frio out for the morning trek.  Willow was especially difficult to deal with at first, sniffing and snorting her way down LDR-A like a Hoover vacuum cleaner.

We saw the husband and wife runners over on LDR, and the man said hello to me.  When I mentioned that we hadn't seen them for quite a while he said they'd been running elsewhere, but it was so overgrown and sporting many small snakes that they started here again.

Right after talking to him I had to turn right on the east/west cross trail and lead the dogs through an extremely overgrown (with grass) section until reaching the new arroyo.  In truth, though, the whole area is covered by grass and weeds, and the entire hike is rather sphincter puckering.  We did the normal route, however, exiting up the hill west of the right branch arroyo.
