They were extremely well behaved until we reached the stopping area just shy of the narrow, grass-lined path through Right Branch Arroyo; that's when Frio headed in the general direction of the spot where we had kicked up a jackrabbit several times in the recent past. Willow bolted after him, but immediately returned when I whistled loudly. Frio came back a second later, never really getting out of our sight.
Because of their attentive response we couldn't fault their behavior, though we continue to anticipate their need to pursue when they chance upon a fleeing rabbit or hare while loose.
