Toasty Tuesday

Wils in yucca shadow
Quite toasty this morning while the three of us did our usual hike.  We added no extra distance because I had to go grocery shopping directly after the outing.

We're destined to hit the century mark again today, and it's the result of a heat dome that's supposed to keep us in the 100s for the week.

Before we left for our trek today I went out into the backyard to inspect (from a distance) the Mourning Dove's nest, which was empty.  I inadvertently scared the two chicks who were on the ground near the fence; both flew up onto the fence and then into our mesquite tree outside of the fence.  When we got home I noticed mama dove back in the nest and photographed her with at least one of the fledglings

Although both chicks have fledged . . .

at least one seems back with mom

Nice photos of the Mourning Dove with one fledging. They are such beautiful birds.
