Long-Trek Thursday

Starting out in shadow
We hadn't been on the trail for very long when Becca started staring up a hill with her hackles raised, as if a stranger was standing there.  Turns out it was an odd-shaped Torrey Yucca.  Funny how a dog can sometimes see a threat where none exists.  We climbed up to inspect the Yucca more closely so she'd see all was safe.  It was a beautiful morning here in the Chihuahuan Desert, warm with only a hint of breeze.  We're heading for a high of 77 F. (25 C.).  Other people were out enjoying the weather--hikers, joggers and mountain bikers.
What's got Becca spooked?
