Hiking Displacement Syndrome

Those porta potties I photographed the other day were a sign that some kind of outdoor gathering was going to take place on the mountain.  This morning Becca and I had to go to the far side of Tortugas because the near side (Sunset Parking area) was completely packed, probably with pilgrims trekking to the mountaintop.  The temperature wasn't as bad as yesterday's 19 F; we were a bit warmer:  24 F.  But the wind was as bad as yesterday, and there were times when I wished I had brought along a scarf to wrap my face.
