I'm not a big horseperson. By that I mean I've never really wanted to own one. I love horses, though, and appreciate their majestic beauty. I've ridden horses several times. However, as a hiker, I'm not especially fond of horse poop. Yesterday there must have been a big equestrian event on the Grand View Trail; and while I have nothing against horseback riders, I wish there was some way for them to clean up the fecal mess their mounts leave behind. I know that's an unreasonable expectation, but we had a pretty crappy hike this morning because of them.

Dynamic photos of the sky and landscape, Packrat.
Have I ever mentioned the time Kali and I went backpacking in a national forest wilderness area in West Virginia and came upon a perfect large, flat camping area that was completely covered with cowpies from cattle grazing in the wilderness? I know whereof you speak, Packrat.
I don't think you've ever mentioned that, Scott, but we've had similar experiences. In fact, one of the prettiest trails in the Sacramentos, the Salado (the lowland way up to Bridal Veil Falls) is completely covered in cow flop. Disgusting.
