Another Far Side Hike

The color of sunrise
The past three or four weeks have been very busy on the west side of Tortugas Mountain on Saturdays, so Becca and I headed for the east side, which was totally devoid of outdoor enthusiasts.  We did see five mountain bikers on the outer loop trail in the distance, but we never got very close to them.  The temperature was great for a morning hike--mid-50s--but the wind was blowing quite stiffly.  Nevertheless, Becca and I put quite a few miles on our legs during a rigorous trek.

I like "the way we came" and "the way we're heading."

I like the Gamble Quail hens in silhouette--very nice image. The vegetation colors are getting tawny--almost autumnal!

I think you should amend your post, though, Packrat. You said that the east side of the mountain was popular with outdoor enthusiasts on weekends, but then you said that you decided to hike on the east side.
