In the outback Becca and I avoided running into a guy and his dog by taking the trail into the foothills of the Tortoise. On the way back we met JC and hiked toward the trailhead with him. Coming up the trail was Jimmy, and we all stood around chatting for a while. Then the guy and dog ("Charlie") we'd avoided came walking toward us. Charlie and Becca had a brief period of sniff-time before Charlie and her guardian headed back for the Sunset Area parking lot. On the way out we said hello to Gregg, who was just parking his CR-V. Everybody who's anybody seemed to be out around the mountain on this beautiful spring-like day.
