Just Hanging Around

Starting out
It was too crowded on and around the mountain this morning, and Becca and I had quite a few encounters with other outdoor enthusiasts before we headed into the desert far west of the Tortoise.  There the only person we saw was the paraglider pictured below.  This is the third time we've seen him gliding near Tortugas Mountain, and I must admit it looks like a lot of fun.  As I pointed out previously, though, since the paramotor weighs anywhere being 45 and 90 pounds I don't think it would be a comfortable experience prior to takeoff.

I have photographed this paraglider before

I've even seen him make a perfect landing with his aircraft

This gives an idea of the motorized fan he carries on his back
