Quick High Country Trip

Early start west of Tortugas
After Becca and I did a slightly-abbreviated hike west of Tortugas Mountain this morning we headed home to finish packing for our quick trip to the Sacramento Mountains.  Because a significant cold front is blowing through we had to get up here to turn the heater on in the pumphouse at out place.  We were going to do it three weeks ago when we were here, but we had to make a quick exit because of Becca's leg strain.  We're only going to spend a few days this time before heading for the low desert.  There's a 50% chance of snow tomorrow night, and the low temp for Tuesday is 14F.

Even on a blustery day it's great to be in the high country. But I wish it weren't quite so blustery.
