Willow and Frio were really well behaved off lead this morning; I let them loose as soon as the three of us entered the left branch arroyo.  Good thing Dr. K wasn't with us today because she'd have worried about my decision.

I let the Heelers have lots of space, letting them advance ahead of me by quite a distance at times, hiding from them to see how long it took for them to notice my absence, letting them make decisions about which way to go.

They came through with flying colors, responding immediately to my whistles whenever I did signal to them, seeking to find me when I was out of their line-of-sight.  Of course we encountered no distractions of the human or critter kind, but I was pleased by the progress they've made over the past few weeks.  Training to be continued.
