All Around Tortugas

Northeast face of Tortugas Mountain
We started out at the Monte Vista parking area of the Tortugas Mountain Trail System, intending to hike two-thirds around the mountain before backtracking.  It was such a cool morning, though, we decided to circumnavigate the entire mountain.  Because it was Sunday we ran into quite a few people, including a group of four mountain bikers.  Referring the plethora of gun retorts from "hunters" in the area I jokingly said to the lead biker, "Didn't get shot?"  He said, "Not yet."  We had a laugh, but neither of us thought it was really funny.
