We had a brief shower this morning before Becca and I set off for Tortugas Mountain. Near the trailhead we had a brief, unpleasant encounter with a loose Chihuahua dog, a peanut of a thing no bigger than an angry rat. (Do rats get angry?) One of the women had her two Chihuahuas on leads, but the mother's dog, "Lexi," was free to hassle us. Becca was really tolerant of the harrassment, standing calmly while the rabid rodent circled around us. No biting occurred, and the mother offered a half-assed apology for her carelessness.

The midground of the image of the Potrillo Mountains almost looks like a mirage; nice image! Which direction are those mountains from Las Cruces?
I'm glad Becca was tolerant of that little dog.
The Potrillos are 25 miles southwest of Las Cruces, Scott.
