The contrails over Tortugas DO make an interesting image, Packrat. Almost looks like the aftermath of some sort of sci-fi battle scene.
Though it's sunny here in the northern Piedmont today, the temperature is only in the mid-30s and we have several inches of snow on the ground. However, the forecasters predict that each day henceforth will be a bit warmer with the possibility that we'll reach a record high 65 degrees on Sunday! Even if we don't break the record, the warm temperatures will spell the demise of most of the infernal white stuff on the ground.
You can see why settlers used the bare limbs of the ocotillos to build fences.
A funny idea, Scott: aftermatch of a sci-fi battle.
:)
That's "aftermath."
