High Rolling in High Rolls

A quick morning hike in the lower desert
We're up in High Rolls for the weekend, where it's going to be far cooler than the lower desert, although we had a chilly start to the morning down there:  49 F and windy when Becca and I hiked near Tortugas Mountain.  It's supposed to be 46 F here tonight.  It's very beautiful up here; some trees are starting to change color.  We'll be able to do a little yard work and get in a couple of hikes before heading back down on Sunday.

Who was the great photographer who took that photo of Packrat and Becca?

Everyone looks happy to be at High Rolls (though, honestly, with Becca it's a little hard to tell in a still photograph; I'll bet it would be obvious in a video).

We're having a rainy Saturday here in the northern Piedmont, but Sunday is supposed to be beautiful, though the high will only be 63 degrees. Tonight, the temperature is supposed to go down to the low 40's--oh, my goodness, autumn really is upon us!

The great photographer was none other than the spectacular Dr. K.

Yeah, it's nice being up here, Scott; and I, too, am a big fan of autumn.
