Hammered and Pounded

Decision ahead
Yesterday in the early afternoon the skies grew angry looking, followed by a brief volley of pea-sized hail.  Then the lightning, thunder and wind started.  Almost immediately it began raining really hard, and the rain last for several hours.  All of the meteorologists in the "Bordeplex"  (Las Cruces/El Paso/Ciudad Juarez) were issuing flood warnings and storm alerts, showing photos and videos that residents were sending in.  Some areas of all cities were so inundated with hail it looked as if several inches of snow had fallen on the streets.  Our local university--New Mexico State--was heavily flooded in certain sections of the campus.  Becca and I got spit upon by the sky a little bit this morning, but so far we've avoided yesterday's nasty weather.

I really like the photo "Wet Dirt Road." That would make a good name for a band.

I'd seen that there were major storms near Phoenix, and figured you were in for something. I'm glad you didn't get washed away.

Thanks, Scott. We're keeping a wary eye on Hurricane Patricia to see if any of that moisture makes it into our area.
