The desert at our hacienda

It was evident immediately this morning that the humidity and dewpoint were high; in fact, it felt very much like July or August during our "monsoon" season, that summertime change in the weather when the jet stream starts funneling moisture from the Gulf of Mexico into the desert Southwest.  If it wasn't for a stiff breeze at the start conditions would have been very uncomfortable.  Unfortunately that breeze ceased to exist about midway through the trek Becca and I took west of Tortugas Mountain.
