Frio and Willow
|
Willow, Frio and I did our regular hike this morning with one notable addition; when we were nearly into the head of Left Branch Arroyo we veered off to the right into a branch of the left branch. We explored new territory until we approached the hill leading up to Tellbrook Road.
The Heelers were thrilled by the new area, sniffing every inch for undiscovered critter treasure. I was surprised, though, that when we came upon the deer scat pictured below neither one of the dogs was at all interested.
We did see someone moving near a lone vehicle parked by the Tellbrook/Sonoma Ranch corner lot, but that was the only person we spotted in our section of the northern Chihuahuan Desert this morning.

The dead Prickly Pear cactus looks like a modernist sculpture.
