Arroyo Exploration

The area just above the Sunset parking lot
Becca and I explored an arroyo we'd never been in before.  We took the Crosscut Trail off the loop road, then headed due west in the large arroyo that runs out of Tortugas's west face.  Somebody had ridden a horse through the wash recently.  We followed the arroyo all the way down to where it intersected with the section of the loop road heading due south.  It was a nice change of pace hiking through that extra sandy arroyo bottom.

It's amazing how many areas there are to explore around Tortugas mountain.

Beautiful blue sky in the last image. I'll bet you got a good workout walking in the sandy wash, Packrat.
