Rain Visits the Borderland

Two Black-tailed Jackrabbits at the water hole
What a respite from the heat last night was; it came in the form of much-needed showers.  It rained a little this morning, too, spitting down on Becca and me as we made our way around Tortugas Mountain.  In the late morning Dr. K, Becca and I packed into the Jeep and headed for a week of high country hiking in the Sacramento Mountains.  Half an hour after we got here the rain was pouring down, the sound of thunder was rolling around in the hills, and the 72-degree temps made us relax all the more.
