Three Below Freezing

It was 29 degrees Fahrenheit when Becca and I hit the trail this morning, and the only people we saw for two-thirds of the hike were workers driving two separate pickups to the top of Tortugas Mountain.  The two-dome observatory and the AT&T building have been demolished already.  We ran into JC and Olivia near the ramshackle shack near the road up the mountain, and we walked back to the trailhead with them, gabbing all the way as if we had a full storehouse of interesting ideas to discuss.
