Natural conglomerate or man-made? |
Hikers on the trail high up on the mountain |
It looked a lot like rain when we started out |
View of the city from Tortugas Mountain foothills |
Torrey Yucca |
Happy to be hiking in cooler weather |
Dappled or spotched? |
Right before heading for lower ground |

This way to the mountains |
Bike this route |
Fingers of sunlight breaking through the clouds |
Almost the same scene with more sky |
Ocotillos and sky |
Big sky country |

Becca is a working dog, and her daily hike is a big part of her job.
If I came across that spider, I'd call it a "wolf spider," but who knows if that's correct. Any really large spider here in the northeast gets that moniker.
We're having a heat wave here outside Philadelphia (which you already know if you're paying any attention to the DNC). Last Sunday and Monday were brutally hot and humid, and we had one of the scariest thunderstorms I've ever lived through around rush hour on Monday night that reduced both the heat and the humidity, but it's till way too hot for me.
