Big Rain, Short Delay

Just after a short rain delay
Willow, Frio and I had a slight delay this morning while the sky opened up and the rain poured down.  We were finally able to leave home about 8:15.

It felt wonderfully cool in the desert at first, but the sun came out and the high humidity made its presence known; we took many breaks in the shade along the way.

While we descended LDR-A arroyo we saw the Basset people and their hounds headed north down LDR.  Before we stopped at the ancient Soaptree in the left branch arroyo Willow became aware of the hounds--not by seeing or hearing, but by smelling them even though they weren't that close.

We all seemed to enjoy our outing today.

Beautiful photos today, Packrat. I especially like the two images of the Whitethorn Acacia.
