New Ground

More flowers than yesterday
Dr. K had to do some shopping this morning so Willow, Frio and I did the hike without her.

We covered new territory west of LDR-A in order to get photos of some beautiful Soaptree Yuccas in bloom.  While we were at it we saw the Basset people and their hounds heading down the Tellbrook Arroyo.

We descended LDR-A nearly to the Tellbrook Arroyo, but turned toward the mountains on the east/west cross trail.  From there we did our usual trek.

Best sighting on today's hike was of a Desert Cardinal (Pyrrhuloxia) eating Ocotillo flowers.  Got a few decent photos of the bird.

Gorgeous photos today! I especially like the ones of the Desert Cardinal feeding from the Ocotillo flowers.
