1st 3: paraglider
|
When I say it was crowded out there this morning I'm overstating the case by a long shot; we saw a lone paraglider, the Basset people with their hounds hiking west in the Tellbrook Arroyo, a man and woman jogging up LDR, a man bicycling north on LDR and a lone hiker descending the steep section of LDR to the south. That was it.
Dr. K, Willow, Frio and I did our usual trek today, and the human pair of the foursome continued to be blown away by the number of Soaptree Yuccas flowering everywhere. We've hiked this desert for decades and neither of us can recall ever seeing such a robust display of yucca blossoms.
Dr. K is now on her way to Albuquerque to pick up a childhood friend, Diane, at the airport, and they're headed from there to Santa Fe for five days. Tomorrow Diane's sister, Lisa, another of Dr. K's friends, will meet them for a reunion of the Tucson amigas.
Willow, Frio and I are left behind to fend for ourselves. No problemo.

Packrat, I like the photo of you standing in front of the very tall Yucca.
