Before Heading Down Mountain

We took one last 1 1/2-hour hike on the Osha Trail outside of Cloudcroft, promising to remember the cool-temperature feeling we experienced prior to returning to the furnace of the Chihuahuan Desert below, where it was 95 F at noon.  We got back to Las Cruces at 1:00, and are already pining for the Ponderosa Pines of the high country.  We'll just have to wait.
